LinkedIn Headline Examples (and the Formula Behind Them)
LinkedIn headline examples for job seekers, career changers and graduates, plus the structure recruiters can actually search for.
Léa Miquet · · 5 min read
Your headline follows you everywhere on LinkedIn: search results, comments, connection requests. When recruiters search, they type job titles and skills. A headline that contains both — clearly — gets found and understood.
The formula
Title | Specialism or skills | Proof or direction. The title comes first because it's what people search for, and because only the beginning is visible in many places.
Examples
Product Designer | B2B SaaS, Design Systems & User Research | Shipped tools used by 40+ enterprise teams
Teacher → Learning & Development | Curriculum Design, Facilitation, Coaching
Junior Data Analyst | SQL, Python, Tableau | Economics Graduate, University of Leeds
Senior Account Executive | Mid-Market SaaS Sales | Consistently 110%+ of quota
What to avoid
- Internal or creative titles nobody searches for.
- Strings of buzzwords: “Visionary | Innovator | Thought Leader”.
- Only your employer: “Working at Company X” says nothing about what you do.
